Héliotropisme
Heliotropism:
1. Tendency for an animal or plant to grow or move towards sunlight.
2. Héliotropisme (in French) Migratory flux of people or a demographic towards a region with a sunnier climate, see also ‘European Sunbelt”.
This term accounts for my own upbringing in Marseille.
Héliotropisme is a reflection on notions of ‘home’ as well as a testimony of the making of a landscape and a people.
